Further Hotel

The idea of a hotel spread across several buildings changes the nature of a stay. There is movement between places, a little more contact with the street, and the possibility that the neighbourhood becomes part of the experience. Further takes this approach in Pererenan, with a collection of four buildings rather than one self-contained block.

Architecture by MORQ gives the project its material character. Brick, shade and layered thresholds allow privacy to emerge through the arrangement of space. The appeal is in how the building filters its surroundings: light enters selectively, surfaces carry texture, and an opening can frame a fragment rather than reveal everything at once.

These are details we return to in our own design thinking. A room does not need to show all its qualities immediately. Some are better discovered as the day changes and sunlight begins to fall somewhere new.

Further also has a rooftop pool and Portion, its rooftop bar, adding another level to the journey through the hotel. It offers a different perspective after the close, sheltered feeling of the interiors.

Look closely at the architecture: the brick at close range, a threshold in shade, the proportions of a room. Bali has no shortage of sweeping views. Here, the quieter interest is in the spaces that bring you back to yourself.
